Nigel Simmons Managing Director, Acconomy Ltd - Bio
With over 20 years experience as a qualified accountant Nigel's experience includes several years as a consultant with Price Waterhouse Coopers as well as a number of Finance Director roles with small and medium sized businesses.
This latter experience from outside practice has enabled Nigel and Acconomy to offer practical business advice as well as the tax and accounts advice offered by other accountancy practices, an additional service that many clients find particularly valuable.
More recently Nigel has gained accreditation from the Professional Contractors Group (PCG), one of the very few accountancy practices to be awarded such accreditation. This enables Acconomy to offer accounting and tax services to small companies offering professional services such as IT consultants, management consultants and engineers with the reassurance of the backing of a professional trade body.
Nigel has used his experience in industry together with investment in technology to develop a new approach to accounts that significantly reduces the cost and time spent undertaking routine accounting and enables the practice to spend more time advising and helping business owners.
At Acconomy we believe that the most effective way of being able to offer theses so called 'added value' services is through regular involvement in company's financial affairs by taking on the whole routine accounts work including bookkeeping and completion of VAT returns –our 'Accounts Office' service. This involvement allows our practice to be 'in the know' and produce meaningful management information either monthly or quarterly. This information forms the cornerstone of monthly or quarterly reviews with business owners that allow them to make informed decisions about the future of their businesses.
In the end it's Nigel's aim through Acconomy to offer businesses top quality professional advice that also offers top value for money.
